PPM conference 2013 & Summer outlook

Last weekend the PPM family gathered in Minneapolis, MN for our annual training conference. We were joined by 100+ leaders throughout the United States who sacrifice their time and resources to make PPM what it is- an organization desiring to serve God through partnerships with local churches and by providing cross cultural missions experiences for groups from the United States. We had the honor of hosting a number of international pastors and staff as well, with leaders traveling from as close as down the road in Minneapolis and as far away as South Africa. Our weekend was filled with spiritual and hands on training to prepare our leaders to effectively mobilize our mission groups and make the best use of the resources God has entrusted to us.

As the summer draws near, I'm excited specifically for our ministry in Jamaica. I'll have the opportunity to directly lead four mission trips in Jamaica, while overseeing our entire operation on the island. All in all, PPM will host over 1,100 people in Jamaica this summer on over 30 unique short term mission trips. I'm especially excited to partner with teams as we serve in the Unity circuit in Trelawny, and having the chance to continue helping build churches and schools in those communities. I'm excited to see the Galloway's home completed, as the elderly couple have moved into their house and now need a kitchen to finish off their new place. I'm looking forward to seeing God work in the lives of our participants. I saw three high school students dedicate their lives to Christ in March on a mission trip in Jamaica. I'm excited to see God continue to rock the hearts of young people, mold the worldview of American Christians, and impact communities throughout the island of Jamaica.... I'm excited for our teams to serve in Denham Town, one of the most challenging and roughest communities in Kingston, a place many Jamaican's avoid. The needs are so great and the servants in Denham Town at the Baptist church are so dedicated to their ministry. God does not call us to safety and comfort, he calls us to boldness and faith... I'm excited to see my mother-in-law take a couple other teachers up to Refuge to do literacy development and staff training with 40+ teachers from the area....

Please pray for my leadership. Pray for clarity, and more importantly faith. That I may survive on God's strength and that my faith would be strong in knowing that he is always with me. Pray for our teams, our host churches who will welcome teams, the pastors we serve with who are so committed to serving churches and communities, and pray for every individual who will be touched by the ministry of PPM this summer. I will try to keep occasional updates. I'm a sporadic blogger, that's for sure.
