SomeTing Jamaican

My journey to Jamaica began early, I mean early, this morning. I woke up around 3:30am and hit the road, traveling down to our Minneapolis office. I met Jim Noreen, our Haiti operations manager who just happen to be flying to Haiti on the same day and was on my flight to Miami, at our office parking lot. After struggling to carry our overloaded bags to the metro transit train, we were cruising through the airport taking advantage of Jim's gold status with American Airlines as a frequent flyer. Note to self- try to cut the airport time closer next time, no need to wake up before I have to...
In Miami as I waited at my gate for my connecting flight to Kingston, the desk agent made an announcement at the counter that they would offer a $300 flight voucher to any passenger who would be willing to wait and take the 7pm flight rather than the overbooked 1pm flight. I was the first to the counter to volunteer as I didn't have to be in Kingston by any certain time today. After letting them know I'd be willing, I was let down to find out that they didn't need my to give up my seat after all- so no $300 travel voucher for me.
I basically walked through the Kingston after I arrived, there was no one around besides our flight.
Of course you can't really claim you're in Jamaica until you've had a patty in coco bread and a bottle of Ting. Proven by the below picture... I've made it. Tomorrow I'll be spending time doing some final setup for my teams that arrive this weekend and getting ready to see how God will use our teams and team members for his purposes.
It's my prayer that our teams are open to God's leading, open to God's plans rather than simply ours, and ready to be impacted spiritually through their willingness to serve.
