A firm foundation- For Maureen Young
Maureen Young and her husband live in the small town of Refuge. Refuge is a small community in Trelawny. There's a school and a community, that's about it. It's not a far drive from the main highway so many people that live there travel via route taxis to the highway and work in the tourism industry or some other form outside of the community of Refuge. Maureen occasionally works at the school in the community doing cleaning and janitorial work. The picture above is a photo of a foundation that First Presbyterian Church from Houston, TX laid in June of 2010 on a PPM trip. The foundation is for the Young's future home. Establishing a firm foundation is the first and most important part of building a home. The foundation sets the standard for the way the rest of the structure will hold up. Jesus says in Matthew 7:24 that, "Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like the wise man who builds his house upon the rock." The Lord is our rock and foundation. We build upon His word. Maureen will receive walls and hopefully a roof on her home next week when Asbury UMC continues the work. It will be exciting to see this project completed!
