Our team that worked on the Galloway home in early June from 1st Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA poses for a picture as they finish their week of work and ministry. They got a ton accomplished and the home is near completion in August of 2011! The Galloway's will have a new safe, dry, and comfortable place to live very soon!

Over the past ten years I've served with local churches in Belize and Jamaica after getting my feet wet on a short term mission trip to Honduras while I was in high school. Much of my time and thoughts these days go into what we're doing in Jamaica, how to get more teams involved, and how we can glorify God and expand his Kingdom on the island while striving to support local communities throughout the country. A few years ago this guy named Christopher Coke popped up all over the news. I knew almost nothing about him until the stories broke. Coke was a Jamaican drug lord who led the 'shower posse' gang which was started by his father. The Jamaican government was made aware that the United States had a warrant out for Coke's arrest due to his responsibility for a hefty drug operation in New York. Terrill Rd. Freewill Baptist / Praying Pelican Retreat

Terrill Road Freewill Baptist / Praying Pelican retreat. I work with a Freewill Baptist church near my school. I was raised Pentecostal, took membership with the Free Methodist church, and am currently ministering in a Freewill Baptist church while attending a Restoration Movement school. So clearly I am all over the board denomination-wise. I closely associate my beliefs with the Free Methodist church, along with the Christian church's dedication to Biblical authority and Christian Unity.My current ministry at Terrill road Freewill Baptist church is two fold. I have been serving as the worship minister on Sunday mornings and evenings, leading in songs and praises. On Sunday evenings I have been helping lead prayer meetings. There's Gold in the Hills!

Those who follow world news likely know the recent news about there being large deposits of Gold in Haiti...   "Its capital is blighted with earthquake rubble. Its countryside is shorn of trees, chopped down for fuel. And yet, Haiti's land may hold the key to relieving centuries of poverty, disaster and disease: There is gold hidden in its hills — and silver and copper, too" (Mendoza, Associated Press).      This is very exciting news, especially for individuals and organizations who are investing in relief work and ministry in Haiti. Of course, the country of Haiti must also be ecstatic about this discovery and the actions being taken by mining companies to begin extracting these gold reserves, which will provide jobs and income for thousands of Haitians. Experts are saying that this could turn the tables on decades of poverty in Haiti.
